Nexus is designed as two buildings on top of a common base, and between these two buildings spans a green, public landscape space – a green oasis in the middle of the dense city. On the site, an artificial terrain was created, which forms part of the green V-shaped landscape running from SEB Bank. The area slopes by approximately four metres from east to west, underlining the change in level between the raised landscape street and the natural terrain.
Here, biodiversity reigns and you can find flowering and berry-producing plants, perennials and grasses when you walk or bike through the landscape street. The plants are of different heights and there are different biotopes, which ensures good experiences and optimum conditions for people as well as animals.
Along the path, there are traditional benches as well as plinths. A bridge crossing the stormwater basin continues the path towards the recreational area to the west. The water runs through winding gullies below the path, from the high point in the east to the lower point in the west and becomes visible where the path winds. The water is transported, evaporates, delayed, reused and routed to a recreational stormwater biotope with a wet stormwater basin. In the stormwater biotope, the canteen's terraces are located. Here, dining employees are close to nature, and plants from the wetland can poke up between and weave themselves into the wooden terraces.
A public experiences path leads through the green meadow terraces of the landscape street, which, inspired by Asian rice fields and Danish meadows, appear green and lush.
